nobody posts anymore. or comments on my posts. boo. i'll post anyways. This week we are staying on a dairy farm in ontario. It's pretty much gorgeous so far. There's cows, a big rolling yard, an old farmhouse that's quite nice and updated, but still definitely a farmhouse, a creek, a dam in the creek, a hammock, beautiful huge trees, two dogs, one very pregnant dog, and last but not least, the smell of a farm. It smells like farm, that's all there is to it. Not sure if I like that yet or not.
In the last week I went to see a lot of shows at the Montreal Jazz Fest, which was pretty cool. I really enjoyed it. One night when Jeremy and Sheree were just playing a duo show I walked down to the fest and stayed there, knowing I would have to take the bus back to our campsite (a church that's not even technically in montreal). The bus was quite an escapade, but the bus drivers in general were helpful and could speak my language, so it worked out. It only took me three hours to get home!
Anyways, there were a lot of free outdoor shows, and many of them were quite good. But nothing compared to Moses Mayes. My cousin's the guitarist so I may be biased, but honestly, nobody gets a crowd moving like Moses Mayes. Dance music that you can actually listen to. My only complaint was that they only played one show, whereas some other bands that were not nearly as interesting were double or triple booked. Not cool.
So by now it seems like word is somewhat becoming public, that I'm in negotiations with my church for a job there. It's exciting to me, but I'm quite apprehensive about it and not sure about my motivation in being interested. Anybody who might actually still be reading blogs and is interested in giving me some insight into what they think is welcome to do so.

we should engrave a tombstone "gone but not forgotten" or something like that. really, it's not dead - there's just a temporary hiatus on my part anyway. I know that once I start school again it'll become my ticket out of the hell that is me and school. just with LBE it's too crazy to post. although, I really should soon...
umm..anyway, on a less random note...negotiations! I had no idea! I assume this is for some sort of musical position? can you give any kind of details?
That'd be pretty huge and exciting...but I can't really give you any insights. unless you'd care to delve into the 'motivations' that you referenced?
I only heard because I'm on the PAPM team...
Blogger's not dead! I still post... sometimes... I know I'm the only one now... *cries*
I knew... but then I know almost everything. I have no real advice except be clear (and firm) about your job description.
yeah, i tried to get on the bandwagon just as everyone was jumping off... I appreciate your blogs jer, I like to know what's going on somehow..
I didn't hear about htis church thing? our church?
I've heard moses mayes has quite a bit of popularity in montreal.
we still blog too, and, about the job, you know what i think already...i love the jazz festival!! anyone who didn't know should read my blog. i thought what i wrote was brilliant, but apparently only 2 comments brilliant...
Yeah I'm not really bloggin anymore for a couple of reasons.
a) I love summer and would rather spend it outside doing fun stuff than sitting at a computer
b) facebook
BUT! I did just read a bunch of your blogs and now that I know that you are blogging regularly about your tour experiences I will read your blog more regularly. My favourite post was probably the one about castle awesome except for the part about you almost killing yourself in your stupid swimming adventures. It reminds me of that time we were at lake of the woods and it was quite windy out and it was getting windier and stormier looking and you had decided (with out telling anyone) to swim out to an island that looked closer than it was. Eventually you were so far out we could only occasionally see your head bobbing around between huge waves. Dad had to swim out there and tell you to come back.
We were all worried.
haha, yeah apparently dad then had a bit of trouble himself getting back. he only told me that recently. but i was completely under control that time, it wasn't that stormy from what i recall, and i can dog paddle till the cows come home as long as my limbs aren't freezing off.
but ahem, i guess if mel doesn't know about the "negotiations" it hasn't been circulated at church yet so i'll just refrain from publicly discussing it for now, on the off chance that prudence is still required. Email me if you want. Off to Jonathan's blog to check on its comment worthiness.
Don't sweat it guys, I often don't receive any comments at all... in fact it seems I commonly receive much less feedback the deeper I try to go. I just figure folks either
a) don't get it (my fault)
b) haven't read it (their prerogative)
c) agree and have nothing to add (optimistic but possible)
d) assume I already know their opinion (got to give them the benefit of the doubt in that case)
e) don't care, or have no opinion on the subject (it may not be relevant to them)
That list might not be exhaustive, but it's more than enough to help me cry myself to sleep every night. What were we talking about, again?
